Baseball season is here. My favorite time of the year. And every spring there are a few movies that I like to watch in preparation for the season. One of those is Field of Dreams, which is based on one of my favorite novels, Shoeless Joe by W.P. Kinsella.
I love all of Kinsella’s baseball novels as he has a knack for describing that certain something that draws us to baseball. He understands the “magic” of the game.
So in preparation for the season, here is one of my favorite scenes from that movie, as James Earl Jones, playing the part of author Terence Mann, describes what it is that I love so much about the game.
And now…all that’s left to say, is….
