A Nifty Little Tool for Sharing Your Content

A key element of Social Media marketing is making sure that your content is “shareable” and has the ability to not only draw people in…but be “movable.” You want retweets. You want people “sharing” your items on Facebook. And you want your blog to have legs.

For instance, if you look over to the right of this blog post, you’ll see buttons for Facebook share (to help people…er…share it on Facebook) as well as Tweetmeme (to make retweeting very simple). Then at the bottom of each post I have more options available via the Sociable application/plug-in. Readers can share this post on just about any social network site, as well as bookmark, print, subscribe, email, etc.

One of my new finds is an application called WiseStamp, which is an e-mail signature extension. I can’t remember where I first heard of this, or I would certainly give them credit, but regardless, I love it. It turns my e-mail signature into another marketing medium.

WiseStamp is a simple, free application that adds sociability and share-ability to your e-mail signature. It is currently compatible with most major web-mail interfaces (I use, and highly recommend, G-Mail) and works in Firefox, Chrome, and several other browsers (though not IE, Safari, or Opera).

The beauty of it is that it’s highly customizable. You can create personal and business signatures and promote just about anything.

As you can see above, not only does my signature include links to my Facebook and Twitter accounts, but the RSS capabilities make sure that it always promotes my latest blog post with a clickable link.

But that’s not all, if you have an Etsy or eBay shop, you can configure it to promote the latest item that you have added for sale.

Other accounts you can promote include LinkedIn, Google Wave, Google Reader, DeviantArt, YouTube, Flickr, and so many more. It’s a nice, neat, clean little app that gives you one more way of promoting your work. You can even add your logo or any other image.

The thing I like about it is that often I’m emailing someone who has no idea who I am, or has never visited my website, blog, or social media properties. I’ve made it easy for them to find out more about me and what I do. So why not check out WiseStamp. It’s free and easy, and offers you one more tool for getting the word out.

I’ve only been using it for about a week or so, but I’m already noticing that it’s bringing traffic to my blog and other accounts. What’s not to like about that?

What are your favorite tools for making your content more shareable?

Thanks Ken for the tip on how to share content. I owe you a steaming cup of Square One Coffee (the best)

WiseStamp is great for webmail and for those few browsers on which it is working. It's greatest appeal to me is the ability to add my blog's RSS feed.

Until WiseStamp is available for Outlook and/or Windows Mail, or for browsers like IE and Safari, I also recommend Retaggr (http://www.retaggr.com). I've been using their email signature service for about a year now. They offer much the same functionality; the only thing Retaggr is missing is the RSS feed.

Good stuff as usual, Ken!

I had been waiting for it on Chrome and didn't realize it was now available. Thanks Ken. Its now setup at the office computer!

Two questions:
1. Does Wisestamp work with Outlook?
2. I use IE at work and Firefox at home. What happens to my Gmail signature when I e-mail from work?

I also love the wisestamp app!! I know I've made several ebook sales I wouldn't have otherwise without even having to mention it! Which is great motivation for actually keeping up with my email...
