When I was a kid I did some pretty weird things. I would often try “interesting” food combinations, one of which was making apple butter and liverwurst sandwiches.
Oh yeah, I know many of you can’t even get past the word “liverwurst”, but I love the stuff. And oddly enough, those apple butter and liverwurst sandwiches were actually really good! To the point where I would make them from time to time. It was no longer an experiment, but something that I knew worked. At least for me.
With social media we need to step outside the box. In fact just employing social media platforms for the purpose of marketing is a major step outside the comfort zone for a lot of people, who are “comfortable” with the way things are.
But I encourage you to step outside your comfort zone. Try things. Some will work, and some won’t. But when you hit on something that works, you’ll be glad you did. It might be mixing things that you previously thought were unmixable.
Now don’t hung up on my dietary habits, especially this particular one. But when it comes to marketing and social media, what’s your apple butter and liverwurst?
Oh, and feel free to try my recipe. You may be surprised.
