Sunday Video Fun: Viral Sports Videos

This week former NBA star Jalen Rose posted his choices for the top 5 YouTube sports moments of the year over on Mashable. All of them are worth watching, but I think these two are the most amazing, for very different reasons. They are both great examples of the types of videos that go viral.

First up is B. Manley with some amazing trick basketball shots. Well, it starts amazing, and then moves beyond amazing. To the point where you will swear it’s some kind of video trickery. But apparently it’s very legit. Check it out and be amazed.

This second video is amazing for all of the wrong reasons. The video features on the on-field antics of New Mexico collegiate soccer player Elizabeth Lambert during a game against BYU. Fortunately this behavior got her suspended indefinitely.

These went viral because the content was amazing. If we create amazing content, we have a better chance of getting people interested in what we do.

Great topic, Ken. Here's my favorite viral sports video from Bethel College in Kansas. It's a blind over the head football bouquet toss into the end zone for a touchdown.

Nearly 3,000,000 views and it was just posted in November. Mennonites, represent!

I've never seen that one before, Ted. Great stuff!
